Tosin Toromade.
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Tosin Toromade started producing drawings at an early age that thrilled the eyes that came in contact with his artistic abilities. That passion for art made him pursue an Education in Fine and Applied arts. He graduated with honours from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
Tosin Toromade is a seasoned professional artist, a multifaceted art guru and a Teacher, who has chosen to look beyond the traditional painting and drawing techniques, but has also embrace the new media including photography, digital art and most recently film making, in expressing himself.
In 2019, he became and Arts in medicine fellow with the Tender Arts Foundation. The training and knowledge on art therapy has further helped him in contributing to the therapeutic wellness of patients in several public and private hospitals in Nigeria.
With a several successful group Art exhibitions, and a Solo exhibition, he has been able to carve a niche for himself as a portrait and figurative artist. He focuses on the sensual nature of art, aiming to depict the form, mind, mood and expression of humans and the complications that come with life and survival in Africa, through the combination of symbolism, texture and iconography.
He is currently exploring visual art as a form of motivation for all and sundry.
With a relentless desire to advance his professional skills, Tòrò as he is fondly called, is constantly looking for how to document event and create art through consistent research of alternative art materials such as Charcoal and Coffee. His works have been housed by passionate art lovers, collectors and galleries.
